Supporting greater access and understanding between US students and UK universities
The United States is one of the largest and most complex student markets in the world, and one of the most underserved by international universities. The challenge is not a lack of students who would be a good fit, it is finding them and getting their attention. US students and families are already navigating a saturated market of over 4,000 colleges and universities; the cognitive overload is real. Thinking about the UK often does not even cross their mind. Add to that the complexity of reaching the right students through the right channels, across 3.8 million square miles of land, with messaging that makes sense in an American context, and the gap becomes wider.
Consider UK Study exists, in part, to help bridge that gap.
In addition to relationships with UK universities, that support Consider UK Study’s efforts to guide students to a right-fit university, I also work with universities in three other capacities:
Content and Story
One of the most powerful thing a university can offer a prospective US student is story. I work with universities to capture and share story-driven content through interviews with current students, faculty, staff, and alumni, brought to life through social media and other formats that help US students understand what your university is really like from the people who know it best.
Market Understanding
Understanding what U.S. students and families are facing with university choice, decision making and enrollment can help UK universities better connect with the right students. I can support UK universities in a few ways: training for new or existing US recruitment staff, general updates and information on the current state of play in US student and family university planning and admissions through my newsletter University for the Rest of Us, and through focused strategy conversations for universities that want to go deeper and more specific to what they are facing.
Recruitment and Conversion
From building initial awareness to conversion strategies and planning, I am able to work directly with universities to develop approaches aligned with your specific goals and capacity, across undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs.
